We value social running

The Base Running Team is the beating heart of our association, a group of runners united by a passion for running and a desire to share every aspect of it.
L'Base Running Amateur Sports Association was founded in 2007 with the innovative idea of SOCIAL RUNNING., which sees running not only as a sporting activity, but also as an experience of sharing and personal growth.

With Base Running, runners are equally protagonists regardless of athletic level or technical performance. Each athlete is emphasized in all phases leading up to and following training and races, with information on technical, psychological and proper nutrition aspects, choice of locations, useful race packs and rich and well-curated refreshments; shared moments of celebration and cultural insights, according to the motto "mens sana in runner sano."

Running with Base Running means taking part in moments when sporting activity meets fun, culture, nature, and social. The events are strongly characterized by the context in which they take place, and no two runs are the same.

In order not to limit the sports experience to a single event, Base Running organizes group workouts that are also open to friends and the curious. The workouts take place in different parks around the city under the guidance of federal coaches and with the support of chaperones who adapt to all paces.

Group workouts led by our federal coaches, which are adapted to your pace and goals. A personalized path where each session is an opportunity for growth and improvement.

A precocious talent who began blazing trails as early as age 13, moving from explosive short distances (with a 3'50" pb on the 1500 mt) to dominating the 3000 and 5000 mt. At 26 he conquered the asphalt, making his mark with a formidable 1:06'45" on the Half Marathon. A FIDAL national technician and sports massage therapist since 2003, he combines his competitive energy with deep expertise in running. Whether it's athletic performance or technical materials, from shoes to clothing, his knowledge in the field is the perfect mix of passion and professionalism.

A journey that began in 1998 as a runner by passion, turned into a mission when he co-founded Base Running with Alessandro Giannone in 2007. He proved that with dedication and method one can excel even as a Master, achieving respectable times: 1h34'49" in Half Marathon and 3h25′ in Marathon. Since 2021 he has been putting his experience at the service of others as a FIDAL Instructor Technician, leading Base Running groups with that contagious enthusiasm that turns every workout into a moment of shared joy.

A true sports all-rounder—from judo to tennis, skiing to soccer—who found his true calling in Base Running in 2014. Since then, it has been a crescendo of challenges: ten marathons completed, a collection of half marathons, and a special love for the adrenaline rush of the track. A veteran of the Valentino evening group, he has evolved from a reference point for his teammates to a FIDAL Technical Instructor in 2021.

His philosophy? Running as an expression of freedom, where competitive spirit merges with personal authenticity. An approach he conveys to his athletes, guiding them to discover their potential without ever losing sight of who they really are.

Ligurian by birth, Piedmontese by adoption since 2012, he explored different disciplines-from martial arts to trekking via alpine skiing-before discovering in 2014 his true passion: running. What began as a personal fitness pursuit has turned into a mission that has led him to complete races of all distances, from 5k to marathons.

Having become a FIDAL Instructor, since 2020 he has led the collective workouts at Ruffini Park, perfectly embodying the Base Running philosophy: to create an environment where personal improvement goes hand in hand with the fun and pleasure of running together.

His career in the world of sport began with a long journey in competitive swimming, starting in his early childhood. After significant experience in basketball, he found his true calling in athletics, transforming his passion for middle-distance running into an outstanding career in the Master category. In this field, he clocked 1h20′ in the half marathon and 2h51′ in the marathon.

He then moved on to triathlon, becoming a qualified instructor, and perfected his approach to physical well-being by obtaining a Pilates instructor certification. The transition to the role of coach is the natural evolution of this multidisciplinary path.

His passion for sport has its roots in his middle school years, inspired by the iconic achievements of Stefano Baldini and Hicham El Guerrouj at the 2004 Athens Olympics. That moment marked the beginning of an athletic journey that evolved from middle-distance to long-distance running, including experiences in trail running and finding his niche in the half marathon, culminating in the prestigious New York Marathon in 2016.

In recent years, he has taken up long-distance triathlon, completing three Ironman 70.3 competitions. Since 2021, this dedication has translated into a professional commitment as a FIDAL Technical Instructor and coach at an athletics club, where he passes on his experience to athletes on a daily basis.

His passion for sport began on the basketball court; from youth leagues to senior championships, he spent many years competing at various levels. During that time, he learned the importance of discipline, teamwork, and perseverance, which are the cornerstones of his approach to physical activity.
 
Over time, he developed an interest in athletics. Long distances, particularly marathons, became his passion. A member of Base Running since 2014, he has participated in 12 marathons with a personal best of 3h09' and 1h28' in the half marathon.
In 2025, he becamea FIDAL technical instructor, with the aim of passing on his experience to athletes.
